How long does it take to receive the vents?

We can ship most standard sizes, species and colours within 48 hours. Special orders may take longer.

 

What sizes do you offer?

All standard sizes can be found on the description pages in this site.

 

How do I know what size I need?

Measure twice. Order once!
Measure the opening in your floor, wall or ceiling. The width and length of your opening should match the duct opening sizes listed here. All other sizes, call our toll free number - 1-866-282-2026.

 

What about odd sizes?

We offer an eggcrate style that can be used on floors and a louvered style cold air return grill for the wall. Both can be adapted to any size. Call our toll free number for further assistance.

 

What colours do you offer?

We offer a wide array of colours to match most pre-finished hardwood flooring manufacturers. We also offer the vents unfinished and ready for your own stain choice.

 

What species of wood do you offer?

Our vents are manufactured in Red Oak, White Oak, Maple, Beech, Birch, Ash, North American Cherry, Brazilian Cherry, Pine, and Hickory.

 

What is a self-rimming vent?

A self-rimming vent is one that sits on the surface of an installed floor. It rims the floor much like the metal vents.

 

What is a flush-mount vent?

A flush-mount vent sits flush with 3/4" hardwood floor. It is strongly recommended that this vent be installed with the hardwood floor.

 

What is a cold-air return?

A cold-air return is a vent that is usually much larger than a standard heating vent. These are usually wall-mounted and are positioned in line with the baseboard.

 

Can you match the vent to my existing floor?

We match most pre-finished floor wood colours. Let us know who the manufacturer of your floor is and we can tell you if we match their colour.

 

How do I finish an unfinished register?

Sand all surfaces lightly with fine grit sandpaper. Do not use steel wool as it tends to shed fibres that stick to the grain and ruin a smooth finish. Stain all surfaces of the register: top, ends and louvers to the desired colour. No need to finish the back of the vent as it is sealed at the factory.
1. Allow to dry thoroughly.
2. Apply three coats of desired finish to all surfaces with a light sanding in between.

Do I really need an air flow damper?

Some areas require an air flow regulator, this is why all of our standard warm air vents come with one.

 

Can these register be walked on?

Our louvered heat register is strong enough to withstand light foot traffic. If your duct opening is located in a high traffic area, may we suggest our egg create design.

Do you guarantee your products?

Yes, we guarantee our product 100%. It is rare that a defective product gets shipped but if it does we'll replace it no questions asked.
